Dementia Awareness Evening- Wednesday 15th October 1700-1900

13th June 2014

We are proud to be hosting a Dementia Awareness Evening on Wednesday 15th October 2014, 1700-1900 at Haverhill Arts Centre.
This event is being supported by the local community, experts in the field of Dementia and local businesses.
Nathalie Gilder (Registered Manager of the Haverhill branch of Cambridge Care Company) said ‘I decided to organise the event as a high percentage of the people we support are living with Dementia. I feel it is very important that people have a better understanding of the condition and understand that is is possible to live well with Dementia’.
Nathalie has been working with the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance on a Dementia care coach programme where she has gained knowledge and tools to use in practise and feels the evening will be hugely beneficial to people in the local area.
We believe that this event will help make Haverhill a Dementia friendly community and improve the quality of so many lives- not just those diagnosed with the condition but those who care for their loved ones who have been diagnosed.
The evening is open to everybody, please come along to this free and informative event. Expert speakers, Dementia Friends info session (as seen on TV) plus a reflective performance of living with Dementia. There will be refreshments and a charity raffle with lots of great prizes. Funds raised will be donated to local Dementia charities.
